Morgan Stanley is sponsoring the Cultivating Aspiring Leaders, an exciting non-profit founded in 2008 which motivates, trains and supports high-potential minority teens and young adults to be active leaders, educators and mentors in their careers, families and communities. The mission of the program is to train these students to give back to their communities by contributing their professional knowledge and expertise through inter-generational mentoring, targeted skill-building and leadership training. Interested high school students are encouraged to apply. Please have the student complete and submit the online application by May 1st, 2012: http://calfoundation.org/Leadership-Training-App.html
Through a range of programs, Cultivating Aspiring Leaders provides students with opportunities to critically think about and demonstrate their appetite for leadership and important social issues. We offer scholarships, essay contest rewards, and leadership training through our annual Leadership Training Institute (LTI) in New York City. The second annual LTI, themed "Emotional Intelligence and Effective Communication", will be held this summer from June 24th - June 30th from 8:30 - 4:15 and offers two (2) leadership tracks for LTI Fellows: Corporate Leadership and Community Organizational Leadership. Taught by leading trainers and professionals in business, law, and other industries of influence, this year's program will feature workshops on goal setting, professional etiquette, public speaking, conflict resolution, building and presenting an effective argument, and more.
