1st Annual Charity Golf Classic to Benefit Johns Hopkins Cancer Center

The Johns Hopkins Pancreas Multidisciplinary Cancer Clinic is designed to evaluate patients with known or suspected pancreatic cancer. It is committed to a single day comprehensive evaluation of a patient incorporating all the resources available for the education, diagnosis, treatment and research of pancreatic cancer by some of the top pancreatic cancer clinicians and specialists in the country. Furthermore, patients are given the option to see pain specialists, nutritionists, social workers, and nurse specialists, a key in formulating a complete therapy program.

Since 2007, the Clinic has seen over 1200 pancreatic cancer patients. The results: a change in diagnosis or management in over 20% of patients, many with important implications for current and future care. In addition, many of these patients enrolled in clinical trials or provided specimens for future pancreatic cancer research. The Clinic also offers excellent teaching opportunities for students, residents, and clinicians while improving communication between various disciplines and outside referring physicians.

With your help, we will raise capital and awareness in order to further the mission of the Johns Hopkins Pancreas Multidisciplinary Cancer Clinic. The proceeds from the tournament will be used to:

- Double patient capacity of the Clinic

- Establish grants for fellows and residents undertaking pancreatic cancer research

- Make available travel and lodging assistance for patients with limited financial resources

- Create a pancreatic cancer multidisciplinary database to include both clinical and biomarker data to improve the management and diagnosis of patients with pancreatic cancer

- Provide support for current and additional staff and clinicians
